Tattoo conventie Assen 2010 - Informatie en huisregels
Toegang op vrijdag 3 sept. kost € 7,50 euro (kinderen t/m 11 jaar gratis toegang één kind per volwassene en onder eigen toezicht).
Toegang op Zaterdag 4 sept. of Zondag 5 sept. kost € 15,- (kinderen t/m 11 jaar gratis toegang één kind per volwassene en onder eigen toezicht).
3 dagen pasje (Vrijdag + Zaterdag + Zondag) kost € 30,-
Weekend pasje (Zaterdag + Zondag) pasje kost € 25,-
Toegangsbewijs/polsband dient gelijk na de kassa om de pols geplakt te worden.
Dit wordt gecontroleerd (zonder entree bewijs om je pols word je de zaal uitgezet).
De conventie is kindvriendelijk m.u.v. de freak-show op Zondag! Er is onder andere een springkussen aanwezig voor de kinderen (gebruik is op eigen risico en onder eigen toezicht) en er zal diverse activiteiten door B.A.C.A. worden georganiseerd (Bikers Against Child Abuse / B.A.C.A. is een stichting die strijdt tegen kindermisbruik, kindermishandeling zie www.baca-nl.nl).
Er zal GEEN striptease shows of andere erotiek/podium acts plaatsvinden die niet geschikt zijn voor kinderen m.u.v. de freak-show op Zondag. De hal is tevens geschikt voor mensen met een rolstoel! Er mogen fotos gemaakt worden voor privé doeleinden tijdens de conventie echter vraag wel altijd toestemming aan de persoon die gefotografeerd wordt!

TATTOO WEDSTRIJD
De jury bekijkt de tattoos ZONDER de naam van de artiest te weten die het gecreëerd heeft. De tattoo wordt beoordeeld op design, artwork, compositie, plaatsing, proporties en originaliteit. Deelname aan een categorie kost 5 euro. Deze 5 euro wordt gedoneerd aan B.A.C.A.
WIL JE GETATOEËERD WORDEN OP DE CONVENTIE?
Bezoek dan eerst de website van de artiest waardoor je getatoeëerd wilt worden. Probeer alvast ver voor de conventie een afspraak te maken met de artiest om tijdens de conventie getatoeëerd te worden. Blijf af van alcohol/drugs minstens 24 uur voor de geplande afspraak. Vergeet niet goed te eten daarvoor!
LET-OP: elke bezoeker die een tattoo heeft laten zetten tijdens de conventie kan gratis een BEPANTHEN nazorg zalf krijgen bij de info balie. Dit is een actie van Bephanthen/Bayer health-care in samenwerking met COLD SKIN tattoo supply.
PIERCING
MARIA van tattoo & piercing studio Almere zal tijdens de conventie piercen. Voor (speciale) vragen kan er (vooraf) contact opgenomen worden met haar via www.tattoostudioalmere.nl.
NIET TOEGESTAAN
Het is niet toegestaan om met dieren de hal te betreden, om te roken in de hal van de conventie, eten en drinken bij de stands (er is een aparte plaats aanwezig om te eten en te drinken). Dit alles is volgens de GG&GD richtlijnen voor tattoo en piercing. Het is niet toegestaan voor bezoekers om te verkopen/aan te bieden/samplen/promoten van produkten/diensten in de conventie hal/locatie. Wapens/messen en meegenomen alcohol zal in beslag worden genomen.
VEILIGHEID
Iedereen wordt gecheckt bij de entree voor uw en onze veiligheid.
EHBO
Er is een EHBO team aanwezig tijdens de conventie.
En ten slotte: de organisatie is niet verantwoordelijk voor elke afspraak gemaakt tussen bezoekers/deelnemers of verkochte/gekochte produkten of elk aangeboden produkt/service.
Alle informatie op de conventie sites is naar beste weten gemaakt. Laatste wijzigingen zijn toegestaan.
Children Activities
Er is een springkussen aanwezig gebruik is op eigen risico en voor eigen verantwoordelijkheid. Gebruik is alleen toegestaan onder toezicht van zijn/haar ouders.
In de buurt van het springkussen er is ook een kinderhoekje aanwezig met teken materiaal.
B.A.C.A. activiteiten: B.A.C.A. zal een paar activiteiten verzorgen voor kinderen, bijvoorbeeld meerijden op een driewielige motor of op gewone motor. Informatie/inschrijving bij de stand van B.A.C.A.
Wij raden ouders aan om jullie mobile telefoonnummer te noteren op het polsband van uw kind!!!
Dit kan ons helpen om jullie sneller te vinden in het geval als jullie kind de weg kwijt is.

Tokyo Love.
A Japanese Group Show curated by Yasha Young.

Traditional Japanese art can be characterized by the use of strong, technically perfect lines and attention to detail. From the carefully prescribed movements of Butoh dance, the elegant sweep of calligraphy, to the Ukiyo‐e woodblock prints of Hiroshige, all these art forms exhibit great elegance and precision. These elements have carried on into the Anime and Manga of popular culture, as can be seen echoed in the neon of Tokyo billboards and the refined lines of modern design. While artists from the West are drawn to the precision of Japanese art, so the rebelliousness of
Western subculture has influenced the underground within Japan. There, the underground scene has used hip‐hop, punk, goth and rockabilly from the West as an escape from the traditions and constrictions of Japanese culture. This rebellion has also found an outlet within modern art – traditional forms and images, such as samurai, geisha, and kabuki, are subverted as the artists’ critique of the society in which they live.
Tokyo Love brings together artists from around the world, united by their use of Japanese images and style. Whether from Japan, having Japanese heritage, or just sharing a love for it, these artists all show their feelings toward the country and culture – the contrasts between old and new, the clash between tradition and rebellion, the past meeting the future.
Hush’s origins as a street artist continue to inform the medium of his contemporary work. His work demonstrates how he uses a very involved mixed media technique including painting, screen print, spray can and layering with paper. Inspired by the portrayal of the female form in art, the artist builds up and tears down layers of paint and images as he works, “letting the canvas and marks take their own path.” The result is an enigmatic synthesis of tagging, pop‐infused imagery and graffiti that exposes the conflict between power and decay, innocence and sexuality, and the fusion of Eastern and Western culture.
Hush is stimulated, influenced and driven by his cross cultural experiences. Having originally trained as a graphic designer and illustrator at Newcastle School of Art and Design, his work has taken him across Asia, Europe and the USA whilst simultaneously developing his prominence as a contemporary artist. Hush has the extraordinary ability to take numerous experiences – personal and cultural ‐ merge them together and create a unique signature style that is globally applauded. Many contemporary artists aspire to do this: only a few truly succeed.
Nishi has always been into drawing ever since he was little. His Art work is based on Japanese Calligraphy, Ukiyoe Art and Japanese Family Crests. He is also into the seasons, each season in Japan has a vivid difference in color and is reflected in the artwork. Childhood reminiscences flavors his art. Nishi89 uses various tools and materials, such as Spray paint and Washi‐paper, however, most of his work is created using a Japanese brush and Sumi‐paint. Sumi‐paint makes you a disciplined artist, as it is unforgiving of errors. Once the individual brush stroke is on the canvas it cannot be undone . One stroke creates it`s own style every time. He doesn’t know if there is a finish line in art. He feels like a runner who is waiting for the starting signal on the start line. When he begins a new piece he likes to start fresh, with a clear mind.

London will celebrate the 6th edition of the tattoo convention this
year. This year the organizers have gone all the way to change to
convention even further. Opening up areas, rooms and attractions to
offer more to meet the most demanding needs of all the tattoo fans who
look forward to this yearly appointment, which has become one of the
main events in the European tattoo circuit. The numbers speak clearly:
20,000+ visitors for the 2008 and 2009 convention with increasing media
interest, this is what makes London the number one event in the world.
The London Tattoo Convention was covered by newspapers and TV news programs as one of the most important events of the entire cultural season in London. In the first three editions, the enormous flow of visitors forced the organizers to reconsider the spaces and the first new element of 2007 edition was the new location, the event has continued to go from strength to strength. After three years at the Old Truman Brewery in Brick Lane, the convention was moved to Tobacco Dock, a beautiful Victorian building totally renovated, located in the heart of London, a few minutes from the Tower Bridge. It was built in 1812 as a deposit and market for the tobacco coming from India. The building underwent renovation starting from 1990 and has now become one of the main centers for events. It was in fact nicknamed Covent Garden of the East End.

In 1990 the building was converted into a shopping centre which had cost
£47 million to develop and was intended to create the Covent Garden of
the East End but the scheme was unsuccessful and it went into
administration. The property is not in a major retail area and has only
moderately good public transport access. Since the mid 1990s the
building has been almost entirely unoccupied with the only tenant being a
sandwich shop, and a plan to convert it into a factory outlet did not
come to fruition. However the site is still highly maintained which
includes the employment of cleaners, a full time security staff and even
a kestrel to discourage pigeons from this site.
The whole building is occasionally used for large scale corporate events
such as the Vodafone and ABN AMRO 2005 annual staff 'party'. In early
2004, part of the building was used as the studios of the Channel 4
reality television show Shattered. Several after-première parties for
films have been held there. Scenes in Episode 6 of 2008 BBC One drama
Ashes to Ashes were filmed at Tobacco Dock which was set in 1981 despite
the centre only being developed for its failed use as a shopping centre
in 1990.

With extended opening hours we have decided to open a separate entrance for advanced ticket holders, not only a fast track entry we are opening 30 minutes before the general public! This gives these dedicated tattoo collectors an opportunity to secure appointments with their desired artists.
